Finally\, the encounter with Peter Feuchtwanger\, with whom he continued his studies in London\, became particularly formative and Heribert Koch subsequently assisted him on his master classes. \nThe international Piano Journal\, which recently published an extensive portrait of him\, describes him as „one of the most inspiring and creative pianist-teachers working in Europe today“. \nBeyond concert programmes with major works from the standard repertoire\, he frequently performs unfamiliar compositions\, often presenting them in the form of lecture recitals. In this context he also acts as an editor. He received particular recognition for his profound research about César Franck\, whose early piano works he made accessible to musicologists and performing musicians in well-respected first editions (publisher Dohr\, Cologne). \nHeribert Koch is a member of the Presidium of the EPTA Germany (European Piano Teachers Association) and served as European President of the Association in the seasons 2012/13 and 2019/20. DESCRIPTION:Teacher\nDates\nCourse Details\nAccommodation\nRegistration\nCosts\nImpressions\n\n\nTeacher:  \nBenjamin Moser came to international attention in June 2007 as a prizewinner in the prestigious Tchaikovsky competition in Moscow\, in which he received the prize for the best interpretation of Tchaikovsky\, as well as the audience prize. In January of that year he also won first prize in the International Young Concert Artists Auditions in New York\, as well as eight additional special prizes and recitals in\, among other venues\, Paris (Gulbenkian Centre)\, Washington (Kennedy Centre) and New York (Carnegie Zankel Recital Hall). \nSince then\, Benjamin has performed regularly\, both in solo recital\, and as soloist with orchestra. These performances include the Tchaikvsky concerto at the Dubrovnik Festival\, concertos by Chopin\, Schumann\, Brahms\, Liszt and Tchaikovsky in the Munich Herkulesaal and in the Alte Oper Frankfurt with the Munich Symphony Orchestra. He performed Rachmaninov’s Paganini Variations with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. He played Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie under Andris Nelsons. He has also played this concerto in the Tonhalle Zurich\, with the Polish Chamber Philharmonic with conductor Wojciech Rajski\, and for the Marienbad Chopin Festival. In addition\, he has played concertos by Mozart\, Beethoven\, Chopin\, Schumann\, Liszt\, Grieg and Rachmaninov and recitals with works by Bach through to contemporary composers throughout the US and in Argentina\, Germany\, England\, Italy\, Austria and Switzerland. \nAs guest performer\, Benjamin Moser has been invited to many important festivals\, including the Bodensee Festival\, the Alpenklassik Festival\, the Lucerne Festival\, the Klavierfestival Ruhr (to which he was reinvited six times)\, and to the YCA chamber music festival in Tokyo and Beijing.  \nConcerts in 2015 included 6 Mozart concertos in Japan\, the Mozart double concerto with the MDR Radio Orchestra and several others. In March 2016 he played his solo debut recital at the London Wigmore Hall. He also enjoys playing chamber music. He has played several concerts with various ensembles\, collaborating with highly-regarded soloists such as Nicolas Altstaedt\, Julian Steckel and his brother\, Johannes Moser.  \nIn 2009 Benjamin made his debut recording with a CD of Russian piano music (with works by Tchaikovsky\, Rachmaninov\, Scriabin\, Medtner and Prokofiev) with Munich-based label OehmsClassics\, to critical acclaim. His second CD with French piano music by Debussy and Ravel was released in 2012\, again through OehmsClassics and received excellent reviews. His third album with the final sonatas of Beethoven and Schubert was released in spring 2015 under the AvI Classics label and received rave reviews (among them the Supersonic Award by Pizzicato magazine). His newest CD with works by Gershwin\, Wild and Mussorgskij was released in May 2019.  \nHe recorded Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 3 with the Bamberg Symphony for the Bavarian radio. Many of his concerts have been recorded by radio stations\, by the BR\, SWR\, RBB\, Deutschlandfunk\, Radio WQXR New York among others. \nThe young pianist\, born in 1981 in Munich\, hails from a family of musicians. He commenced his studies as a teenager at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Munich with Professor Michael Schäfer\, before continuing with Professor Klaus Hellwig at the Universität der Künste Berlin.He was also greatly inspired by his work with Dimitry Bashkirov\, Fu Tsong\, Stanislav Ioudenitch and since 2012 Alfred Brendel in London. During his studies in Berlin he won first prize in the Artur-Schnabel piano competition in Berlin and in 2003 he was a recipient of the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes’ scholarship. In 2005 he received the Steinway Prize Berlin. However it came clear already during his early childhood that music would be his vocation some day. More than a dozen scholarships\, awards and many prizes at international competitions reinforced that impression over the years\, most importantly to mention the German National Music Competition\, Bach-Competition Leipzig and a first prize at the international Chopin-Competition Hanover. \nHis concert career – now almost 40 years of stage experience – took him all over the northern hemisphere\, across Europe\, Asia and the US. As a soloist he performed with numerous renowned orchestras and at several international festivals. His repertoire did never exclude any style or period and included all kinds of keyboards from cembalo to fortepiano and various historic grand pianos. \nSince his younger days Konrad Engel is also very much dedicated to chamber music and Kunstlied. Just to mention a few long term highlights\, there was the applauded „Trio Corrado” together with Konradin Seitzer (Violin) and Konrad Haesler (Cello) as well as various performances together with Leonid Gorokhov\, Markus Becker\, Mareike Morr\, Sharon Kam and many other renowned partners. Beyond that he was member of bigger ensembles as well as conducting two chamber orchestras for several years. \nOver the last two decades he discovered his great passion for teaching and rather focused his career on education since several years. After getting first experiences in teaching at the municipal music school Hanover\, a lectureship at the University for Arts Bremen in 2011 was an important leap. \nFrom 2012 to 2018 he held a substitutional professorship at Hanover Music University\, where he first got in touch with the education of highly talented young students. In 2017 he got a full professorship at the University „Hanns Eisler“ Berlin and the honour to become head of piano department at the „Musikgymnasium C.P.E. Bach“ in addition. \nBy now amongst his students are many prizewinners at international competitions such as Sendai/Japan\, Aarhus/Denmark\, Mendelssohn/Berlin\, Schumann/Zwickau\, Liszt/Weimar etc. \nHe started his own academic studies in music education at Hannover Music University and \nfinished his third Diploma with the „Konzertexamen“ in 2006 after being a student of Karl-Heinz Kämmerling for many years. DESCRIPTION:Teachers\nDates\nCourse Details\nAccommodation\nRegistration\nCosts\nImpressions\n\n\nTeachers: \n© Neda Navaee\nWhen Olha Chipak and Oleksiy Kushnir first met in 1998 while studying at the Lviv Music Academy in Ukraine\, they could not have imagined where their musical partnership would take them. What they certainly knew\, however\, was that from that point on they would not only pursue a career as solo artists but also devote themselves to an equal degree to performing chamber music. They soon won their first international competition together (“Roma 98”)\, but the piano duo—like Emil Gilels and Sviatoslav Richter she is from the legendary music metropolis Odessa on the Black Sea\, he from the cultural melting pot of Lviv\, where the first music conservatory in the Ukraine was founded as early as 1786—sought more than recognition by juries. \nThus their path as a duo took them to the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Rostock where they majored in piano duo performance with Hans-Peter and Volker Stenzl and in 2006 completed their degree in piano ensemble performance (concert exam – Konzertexamen). \nThe two have since begun to work at the institution as docents for piano and piano duo. \nThe duo has won numerous international competitions: \n1st prize – Rom-98 (international competition) \n2nd prize – TIM (Torneo Internazionale di Musica) (2000) \n2nd prize – Chamber music competition in Caltanissetta (2000) \n1st prize – “Premio Seiler“ in Palermo (2002) \n2nd prize – “Palma d’Oro“ in Finale Ligure (2002) \n1st prize – Piano duo competition in Bialystok (Poland) (2002) \n1st prize – “Piano duo in 20th century“ (Premio Valentino Bucchi) (2003) \n2nd prize – Dranoff International Two Piano Competition in Miami (2003) \n1st prize – San Marino Piano competition (2006) \nWinners of the International Web Concert Hall Competition (2012) \nSuccess at these competitions led to concert performances at important venues in many European countries\, the U.S.\, and China as well as guest performances at festivals such as the Festival “Virtuosi”(Ukraine)\, the Piano Festival in Trieste (Italy)\, the “Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern”. DESCRIPTION:Teacher\nDates\nCourse Details\nAccommodation\nRegistration\nCosts\nImpressions\n\n\nAfter studying at the State University of the Arts in Tokyo where she was born\, the pianist Tomoko Ogasawara continued her studies in Germany at the University of the Arts in Berlin and the University of Music in Freiburg im Breisgau\, where she received the solo diploma with honors and went on to win 1st Prize in the German Hochschulwettbewerb. \nAmong her teachers were Georg Sava\, Tibor Hazay and Georgy Sebok who influenced her artistic development and led her to early success\, for example as finalist in the international competitions “Maria Canals” / Barcelona and “ Clara Haskil” / Montreux. \nSince then concert engagements have taken Tomoko Ogasawara to the concert halls of the international music world (such as Berlin\, Montreux\, London\, Paris\, Tokyo\, Jerusalem\, Bangkok\, Shanghai). She has played concerts together with Albrecht Mayer\, Jörg Widmann and Tabea Zimmermann and regularly plays with the principals and leading musicians of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra\, the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra\, the Bavarian Symphony Orchestra and the SWR Orchestra also in the context of chamber music formations\, such as the piano trio “Franconia”\, the ensemble “Abraxas” and at international festivals such as “Affinis” in Japan. \nAs soloist Tomoko Ogasawara has played\, among others\, with the Symphony Orchestra Berlin\, Lausanne Chamber Orchestra\, Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic Orchestra and the Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra Bamberg. She is featured in numerous radio broadcasts as well as CD recordings. In the season 2006/2007 Ogasawara performed the complete cycle of piano sonatas by W. A. Mozart. \nCurrently Tomoko Ogasawara passes on her musical experience through the teaching position she holds at the University of Music in Freiburg im Breisgau as well as regular master classes in Tokyo and Yokohama. Students of hers have won prizes in both national and international competitions. \nThe Hamburg born Matthias Ranft received his first cello at the age of seven and while still in high school he started studying at the Conservatory of Music Arthur Troester. His musical education lead him to Freiburg with Christoph Henkel and then later after winning scholarships from the DAAD and the Cultural Society of German Industry he went to study with Janos Starker in Bloomington\, Indiana\, USA. Before his graduating from the Conservatory in Freiburg he had already collected Orchestra experience between 1981 and 1983 as solo cello with the Hofer Symphony and won the 1984 Mendelsson Competition in Berlin. \nSince 1985 Ranft has been the first cellist with the Bamberg Symphony/ Bayerish State Philharmonic. On the side he takes regular part in international festivals such as Affinis in Japan. He also concertizes as a chamber musician with the ensemble ABRAXAS\, Trio FRANCONIA\,  with Jörg Widmann\, and with Frank Peter Zimmermann among others. He has also played as soloist under Gilbert Varga\, Roger Norrington\, Adam Fischer\, Lawrence Renes and Jonathan Nott.\nHis musical accomplishments are shown through countless radio and CD recordings. He has shared his musical experience as a docent at the Freiburg Conservatory from 2001-2004 and at masterclasses throughout Japan. SUMMARY:Foyerkonzert: Diabelli-Variationen
DESCRIPTION:Konzertbeschreibung\nProgramm\nMitwirkende\nOrt und Zeit\nZugangsbedingungen\nAnmeldung\n\n\nDie im Jahr 1823 fertiggestellten 33 Veränderungen über einen Walzer von A. Diabelli op. 120 in C-Dur sind Ludwig van Beethovens letztes großes Klavierwerk. Mit einer Spieldauer von circa 45–60 Minuten markieren die Antonie Brentano gewidmeten Diabelli-Variationen den Höhepunkt seines Variationsschaffens und zählen zugleich zu den bedeutendsten\, umfangreichsten und vielschichtigsten Beiträgen dieser Kunstform. Diesen Meilenstein präsentiert die Internationale Musikakademie Sankt Goar mit der jungen Pianistin Fatjona Maliqi in einem Foyerkonzert im Glasfoyer der Rheinfelshalle in Sankt Goar am 4. April um 19 Uhr. \n\nÜber die Entstehungsgeschichte:\n \nInfolge einer kuriosen Geschäftsidee hatte der Wiener Musikverleger und Komponist Anton Diabelli Anfang des Jahres 1819 eine Reihe namhafter zeitgenössischer Komponisten aus ganz Österreich und Böhmen (vor allem aber Wiener und dort wirkende Musiker) mittels Einladungsschreiben darum gebeten\, über ein von ihm verfasstes Walzerthema je eine Variation zu schreiben\, welche dann als Sammelband in seinem 1818 neu gegründeten Musikverlag Cappi & Diabelli publiziert werden sollten. Dem Aufruf Diabellis folgten fünfzig „vaterländische Tonkünstler“\, darunter Carl Czerny\, Johann Nepomuk Hummel\, Ignaz Moscheles\, Conradin Kreutzer\, Franz Xaver Mozart\, Franz Schubert sowie der junge Franz Liszt.\n\n\n \nAuch Beethoven sollte ein Stück beisteuern\, war aber weder von der Idee des Gemeinschaftsprojekts\, noch von der kompositorischen Qualität des Diabelli-Themas begeistert. Umgehend ließ er den Verleger wissen\, dass er für 40 Dukaten gerne bereit wäre\, das Thema alleine zu bearbeiten. Diabelli bot ihm sogar das Doppelte\, wenn er nicht mehr als sieben Variationen schriebe\, doch Beethoven begnügte sich nicht damit. Nachdem ihn der Auftraggeber zuvor öfter schriftlich oder mündlich gemahnt hatte\, lieferte er 1823 – als letzter Komponist – einen ganzen Zyklus mit „33 Veränderungen“ ab.\n\n\n \nDiabelli war von Beethovens Arbeit derart begeistert\, dass er dessen Variationszyklus 1823 zunächst gesondert erscheinen ließ. Im Sinne seiner ursprünglichen Idee einer Variationen-Sammlung (mit je einer Variation jedes Komponisten) folgte 1824 schließlich ein Doppelband: In der ersten Abteilung Beethovens „33 Veränderungen“ op. 120\, in der zweiten „50 Veränderungen der vorzüglichsten Tonsetzer und Virtuosen Wiens“ (alphabetisch nach Verfassernamen geordnet) mit einer Coda von Carl Czerny. Die Edition wurde vom Musikverlag Cappi & Diabelli unter dem fiktiven Titel Vaterländischer Künstlerverein folgendermaßen angekündigt:\n\n\n \n„Alle vaterländischen jetzt lebenden bekannten Tonsetzer und Virtuosen auf dem Fortepiano\, fünfzig an der Zahl\, hatten sich vereint\, auf ein und dasselbe ihnen vorgelegte Thema\, jeder eine Variation zu componiren […]. Schon früher hatte unser große [sic] Beethoven […] auf dasselbe Thema auf 33 (bey uns erschienenen) Veränderungen\, die den ersten Theil dieses Werkes bilden\, in meisterhaft origineller Bearbeitung alle Tiefen des Genies und der Kunst erschöpft. Wie interessant muss es daher seyn\, wenn alle andern Tonkünstler […] auf Oesterreichs classischem Boden […] über dasselbe Motiv ihr Talent entwickeln […].“\n\n\n \nÜber Diabellis Publikation soll Beethoven selbst nicht erfreut gewesen sein und sein Werk dadurch sogar entwertet gesehen haben. Nachdem er bereits im Juni 1822 seinem Verleger Peters „Variationen über einen Walzer für Klavier solo“ angeboten hatte\, bat er Anfang Mai 1823 seinen ehemaligen Schüler Ferdinand Ries um die Vermittlung eines englischen Verlegers für sein Opus 120. Eine Stichvorlage schickte Beethoven ihm jedoch erst im Juli 1823\, weshalb die geplante englische Ausgabe durch T. Als Kammermusikerin wurde sie beim Hochschulwettbewerb der Musikhochschule Münster\, an der sie in der Klasse von Prof. Heribert Koch ausgebildet wird\, mit dem ersten Preis ausgezeichnet. \nIm Jubiläumsjahr 2020 wurde sie eingeladen\, Beethovens größtes Klavierwerk\, die Diabelli-Variationen Op. 120\, u.a. im Rahmen des 42. Internationalen Kongresses der EPTA (European Piano Teachers Association) zu spielen. In einem Live-Mitschnitt in der Reihe WDR3 Campus-Konzerte\, in der die besten Studierenden der Musikhochschulen in NRW präsentiert werden\, trug sie das monumentale Werk auf einem historischen Flügel von Conrad Graf der Instrumenten-Sammlung Beetz) vor\, der auch Beethovens letztes Instrument erbaute.  \n2022 wurde sie erneut für die Mitwirkung in einem WDR3 Campus-Konzert ausgewählt – diesmal als Kammermusikerin\, zusammen mit ihrem Duopartner Nicklas Erpenbach (Violoncello). Ihre aktuelle Konzertagenda umfasst u.a. Auftritte beim Bonner Schumannfest\, in London beim Summer Festival der Beethoven Piano Society of Europe und im Rahmen der Konzerte der Gesellschaft für Musiktheater in Wien. \n\n\n\nDonnerstag\, den 4. Denn Herr Rittner ist ein Exeget im Feld der historischen Aufführungspraxis der Klaviermusik\, die der Klassik und der Romantik entspringt. \nDie besonderen Instrumente aus der Zeit des Übergangs vom 19. auf das 20. He performs in such venues as the Tonhalle Zurich\, the Great Hall of the Tchaikovsky Conservatoire in Moscow\, the Philharmonie in Kiev\, the Megaron in Athens\, the Konzerthaus in Berlin and the Musikhalle in Hamburg. His successes in the Concours Clara Haskil in Vevey\, the Grand Prix Maria Callas in Athens and the Hamamatsu International Piano Competition in Japan led\, amongst other engagements\, to concerts with the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra\, the Orchestre de Chambre Lausanne\, the Ukraine State Orchestra and the Berlin Symphonic and Moscow Symphonic Orchestras. He undertakes concert tours throughout Europe and in the Far East. \n\n\n\nHis creative engagement with piano music is well displayed in the theme-based recitals for various radio stations\, the Deutschlandradio\, Radio Suisse Romande and Westdeutsche\, Mitteldeutsche and Hessische Rundfunk and others. DESCRIPTION:Teacher\nDates\nCourse Details\nAccommodation\nRegistration\nCosts\nKonzertbeschreibung\nMitwirkende\nOrt und Zeit\nZugangsbedingungen\nAnmeldung\n\n\nTraditionell veranstaltet die Musikakademie Sankt Goar seit 2015 an jedem zweiten Septemberwochenende ein Konzert auf Burg Gutenfels\, von dessen Vorwerk das Publikum im direkten Anschluss an die Veranstaltung zum Betrachten des Feuerwerks „Rhein in Flammen“ in Oberwesel aus der Ferne eingeladen ist. \nZuvor bildet dieses Jahr im wortwörtlichsten Sinne Schuberts Schwanengesang\, sein gleichnamiger Zyklus\, D957\, der eigentlich gar nicht als Zyklus von Franz Schubert gedacht war\, den Abschluss der Aufführung dieser drei Meisterwerke deutschsprachigen Liedschaffens. Schuberts Verleger\, Tobias Haslinger\, raffte wohl nach dessen zu frühem Ableben seine mutmaßlich letzten Kompositionen zusammen\, nannte diese Schubert Schwanengesang und schaffte damit posthum einen Liederzyklus\, der aber nun im Laufe der Jahrhunderte einen festen Platz im Konzertleben gefunden hat. Dennoch wird dieses Werk bei der Aufführung musikwissenschaftlich zurechtgerückt zu erleben sein\, ergänzt um weitere Kompositionen in einer rekonstruierten Form. \nMusiziert wird auf einem eigens für diese Konzerte restaurierten Tafelklavier aus der ersten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts. ARD-Wettbewerb\, dem Lauritz Melchior-Wettbewerb für Wagnerstimmen in Aalborg (DK)\, dem Wettbewerb “Wagners Neue Stimmen” in Karlsruhe\, dem Richard Strauss-Wettbewerb oder dem Internationalen Vocalisten Concours in ´s-Hertogenbosch ausgezeichnet. \nAls Opernsänger konnte der Bariton bereits zahlreiche internationale Erfahrungen an Opernhäusern u.a. in Österreich\, Italien\, den Niederlanden\, Frankreich und Thailand sammeln. Als Konzertsänger gehören neben den Bariton- auch die Bassrollen zu seinem Repertoire. So musizierte er bereits auf so renommierten Konzertpodien wie dem Concertgebouw Amsterdam\, der Philharmonie Berlin\, der Tonhalle Düsseldorf\, der Alten Oper Frankfurt\, dem Salle Pleyel in Paris und der Philharmonie Am Gasteig München Werke von Bachs Passionen und Kantaten\, über Haydns Schöpfung und Mendelssohns Oratorien bis hin Schönbergs „A Survivor from Warsaw“ und zeitgenössischen Kompositionen. DESCRIPTION:Konzertbeschreibung\nMitwirkende\nOrt und Zeit\nZugangsbedingungen\nAnmeldung\n\n\nDie Konzerte des Festivals der Internationalen Musikakademie Sankt Goar auf Burg Gutenfels in Kaub am Rhein stehen dieses Jahr ganz im Zeichen der Lieder von Franz Schubert (1797-1828). \n195 Jahre nach dessen Tod\, führt Bariton Falko Hönisch mit den Pianisten Johann Sebastian Berend und André Dolabella im Abstand von jeweils zwei Wochen alle drei großen Liederzyklen des berühmten Wiener Komponisten der Romantik auf. Das Publikum darf sich daher darauf freuen\, diese drei Meilensteine im stimmungsvollen Ambiente des Innenhofs von Burg Gutenfels unter freiem Himmel in kurzen Abständen hintereinander zu erleben\, immer eingeleitet mit einer Einführung in das jeweilige Werk des Abends. \nNeben dem besonderen Aufführungsort oberhalb des Städtchens Kaub mit Blick auf die Burg Pfalzgrafenstein stellt dieses Jahr auch das Instrumentarium einen besonderen Mehrwert dar. \nMusiziert wird auf einem eigens für diese Konzerte restaurierten Tafelklavier aus der ersten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts. So können die Zuhörerinnen und Zuhörer sehr authentisch erleben\, wie die beliebten Lieder Franz Schuberts noch zu dessen Lebenszeit und nach seinem frühen Tod im Jahr 1828 geklungen haben. \n„Ich werde Euch einen Zyklus schauerlicher Lieder vorsingen“ – mit diesen Worten lud Franz Schubert seine Freunde 1827 in Wien zu einem privaten Musikabend in seine Wohnung. Und zu eben diesem Zyklus\, der Winterreise\, Op. 89\, D911\, seinem wohl berühmtesten Zyklus\, lädt auch die Internationalen Musikakademie Sankt Goar nach Kaub ein. \nVor genau 200 Jahren\, im Jahr 1823 lernte Franz Schubert eben diese Gedichte des Dichters Wilhelm Müller (1794-1827) kennen. Diese machen den Anfang und thematisieren in den Vertonungen Schuberts die Isolation des Individuums und den existentiellen Schmerz eines wandernden Menschen\, zu dessen Begleiter das Publikum wird. DESCRIPTION:Teacher\nDates\nCourse Details\nAccommodation\nRegistration\nCosts\n\n\nTeacher: \nHendrik Bräunlich\, was born in Leipzig. Prof. Bräunlich’s pianistic talent\, as well as his general involvement in music have been nurtured since early childhood. \nFrom 1986 to 1992 he studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater (Music Conservatory) “Felix Mendelssohn Bertholdy” in Leipzig with emphasis on vocal accompaniment\, piano solo and instrumental accompaniment.  There\, under the tutelage of Maestro Eugen Wangler\, he developed a love for the singing voice\, and a passion for accompanying it. \nFrom 1992 to 1997 he studied song interpretation in the postgraduate program at the same conservatory with Lied professor and mentor Prof. Karl-Peter Kammerlander\,  During this same period he was given the opportunity to work privately with Charles Spencer\, with whom he studied most extensively\, and Prof. Hartmut Höll – both great lied interpreters. In addition\, he accompanied master classes of well-known singers such as Elisabeth Schwarzkopf\, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau\, Peter Schreier\, Thomas Hampson and Jakob Stämpfli.  Mr. Stämpli\, impressed with his work\, invited him to accompany a master class in Sion (Suisse) during the Tibor Varga Festival. \nProf. Bräunlich’s success at the Varga Festival as well as his association with other famous artists led to additional invitations to accompany international singing competitions  such as the Schumann in Zwickau and the Bach in Leipzig. Charles Spencer used his influence to introduce Mr. Bräunlich to world-renowned mezzo-soprano\, Christa Ludwig\, with whom he became associated for many years – accompanying her master classes in Gumpoldskirchen near Vienna\, Wiener Musikverein\, Villecroze in France and a national conference of German-speaking singing teachers in Halle/Saale\,) to name a few. \nProf. Bräunlich’s accompanying skills were indeed also acknowledged by the fact that he himself became a prize-winner: in 1993 he won the Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy Prize in Berlin\,  and in the same year\, the accompanying prize at the International Singing Competition in Tauberbischofsheim. In 1994 he received an award at the International Brahms Singing Competition in Hamburg\, and in the 1997 Deutscher Musikwettbewerb awarded him a scholarship. In 1998 he was prize-winner at the first International Hilde Zadek Singing Competition in Passau. \nThe attention generated by these German music competitions enabled Prof. Bräunlich to start a concert career.  It also resulted in repeated invitations to accompany the above-mentioned competitions and master classes. \nProf. Bräunlich has recorded for all major German broadcasters. He has also participated in various CD projects\, including the first recording of Lieder by Georg Göhler.  Other CD recordings include “Hausmusik bei Schumanns” with the Calmus Vocal Ensemble Leipzig\, and the award-winning CD of the clarinetist Nicola Jürgensen. \nIn 1992 Prof. Bräunlich was offered a permanent full-time teaching position at the Leipzig Conservatory; the association with this institution continues to this day.  The pedagogical commitment he has to his students\, and his support of their individual development is obviously enriched by his personal history of performing and accompanying. \nIn 2005\, under the auspices of the ERASMUS exchange program\, he was invited – together with Leipzig Conservatory Voice Prof. Dr. Jeanette Favaro-Reuter – to participate in coaching Lieder of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy at the Royal College of Music in London. During this period he also tought during the  Leipzig Summer Courses of Puccini’s “Tosca” as well as master classes of clarinettist Allan Key and Prof. Dr. Favaro-Reuter. \nOver the last years Prof. Bräunlich has offered classes\, free of charge\, at the Leipzig Conservatory with primary emphasis on Piano Lied literature of the 20th and 21st centuries. He has offered addition classes on topics such as “Robert Schumann´s Lieder” and “Claude Debussy´s Lieder and Chants”. \nHis involvement with 20th and 21st century Lied has led Prof. Bräunlich to an even greater concentration on contemporary music. In 2022\, together with soprano Lisa Fornhammar\, he developed a special New Music Program. The theme for the 2023/24 session is “New Music is not per se dissonant”. \n\n\nDates:  \n\nArrival: Thursday\, July 20\, 2023\, until 2 pm \nClosing concert: Sunday\, July 23\, 2023\, 5 pm \nDeparture: Monday\, July 24\, 2023\, after 2 pm \n\n\nCourse Description: \n\nDieser Kurs möchte nach Möglichkeit mit Duos arbeiten. Diese können wir auch gemeinsam zusammenstellen. Wobei es nicht darauf ankommt\, ob jede teilnehmende Person nur mit einer anderen Person zusammenarbeitet. Es können gerade die Pianistinnen. zw. Pianisten auch mit mehreren Gesangspartnerinnen bzw. -partnern zusammen musizieren. \nSo habe ich es selbst bei Wettbewerben während der Runden mit einigen Teilnehmenden zu tun gehabt\, was meine Qualität nicht minderte. Meine Idee ist folgende: Jeder teilnehmende  Person sucht sich eine bis zwei Liedgruppen aus und bereitet diese vor. Dann können wir während der Kurstage an den Liedern arbeiten und das Erarbeitete zum Schluss in einem Abschlusskonzert vorstellen. \nDies setzt voraus\, dass jeder seine Stücke handwerklich gut parat hat\, um damit arbeiten zu können. Die Programmfolge des Konzertes sollte dann auch der meiner Ankündigung entsprechen. \nRepertoire: Neue Musik ist nicht per se dissonant \nIch habe ein Programm zusammengestellt\, welches den tonalen Aspekt der Stücke in den Mittelpunkt rückt. Denn wir sind es gewohnt\, nach atonalen Klängen meist eine Auflösung in Form einer Konsonanz zu erwarten. Und diese gibt es in erstaunlich vielen Liedern der Neuen Musik. \nDas Programm beginnt mit drei Liedern aus den „Walzergesängen\, Op. 6“ von Alexander von Zemlinsky. Diese sind\, wie er selbst äußerte\, nicht modern\, sondern im Spätromantischen verwurzelt. \nNr. 1 Liebe Schwalbe\nNr. 5 Blaues Sternlein\nNr. 6 Briefchen schrieb ich \nDanach zwei Brettl-Lieder des Entdeckers der Dodekaphonie\, Arnold Schönberg. Diese insgesamt acht Lieder (zwischen April und September 1901 komponiert) gehen auf sein Engagement als Leiter de Berliner Cabaretts Überbrettl zurück. \nZwei davon habe ich ausgewählt: Gigerlette und Arie aus dem Spiegel von Arkadien \nDarauf folgen die vielleicht berühmtesten Schüler\, nämlich Anton von  Webern und Alban Berg. Zuerst Webern. Er kommt\, wie auch sein Lehrer und sein Mitschüler Berg\, aus der Tradition der Wiener Spätromantik. Nur in wenigen  Klängen meint man das Kommende zu hören\, eher zu ahnen\, die musikalische Struktur steht noch ganz im Zeichen der Tradition: Vorfrühling\, Blumengruss\, Fromm und Heiter \nDann Alban Berg\, dem Romantiker der Zweiten Wiener Schule. Von ihm habe ich die quasi nicht explizit „Neuen Lieder“ ausgewählt\, nämlich aus den “Sieben frühen Liedern: Die Nachtigall  und Im Zimmer. \nDer „zweiten Wiener Schule“ folgt ein anderer österreichischer Komponist\, Gottfried von Einem. Von ihm habe ich ein Lied gewählt aus seinen „Zwölf Tag- und Nachtliedern“. Das Stück „Eine Treppe abwärts steigend“ zeigt seine Individualität gut und vermittelt trotzdem nicht das Quere der Neuen Musik. \nNach dem ersten Teil mit ausschließlich deutschsprachigen Tonsetzern gibt es einen zweiten Teil mit amerikanischen Komponisten. Diese haben sich \, vor allem nach dem zweiten Weltkrieg\, eine guten Ruf gemacht im ansonsten eher prüden Amerika: Zuerst ein Komponist mit sizilianischen Wurzeln\, Dominick Argento. Er fühte sich zeitlebens zur Musik George Gershwins und zur amerikanischen Vokalmusik hingezogen. Von ihm habe ich aus seinem Zyklus “Six Elizabethan Songs” folgende ausgesucht: Diaphenia und Hymn \nIhm folgt ein eher sich der leichteren Klassik verpflichtender Musiker\, Marc Blitzstein. Er komponierte häufig für den Film und so habe ich gedacht\, diese besondere Farbe mit ins Programm zu nehmen. Der Song „I wish it so“ steht ganz in der Linie der für den Film geschaffenen Titel. Nach Blitzstein folgt ein unter anderem mit dem Pulitzer-Preis ausgezeichneten Samuel Barber ein weiterer Amerikaner. Er war nicht nur Komponist\, sondern auch Bariton. Und vielleicht hat er deshalb seine Lieder so eingänhig komponiert. \nZuerst „Sure of this shining night“\, dann das wesentlich düsterere „The Crucifiction“. Zum Schluss noch ein weiterer sehr wichtiger und bedeutender amerikanischer Komponist\, Leonard Bernstein. \nDieser\, aus jüdischer Familie stammend\, war ein extrem erfolgreicher Musikvermittler. Und als Komponist ist uns allen wahrscheinlich seine „West Side Story“ bekannt\, einer Musical-Oper. Aber er hat auch Lieder vertont\, unter anderem den Zyklus „I hate music“. Und aus diesem habe ich den namensgebenden Titelsong ausgewählt. \n\n\nAccommodation: \n \nStudents are hosted on a shared room basis in a beautiful villa on the bank of the Rhine river. \nMeals:  \nA kitchen is available for cooking; groceries can be bought in a nearby supermarket. Zahlreiche Meisterkurse\, u.a. bei Menahem Pressler (Beaux-Arts-Trio). Stipendiat der Musikhochschule Hannover für die „Internationalen Musiktage“ in Hitzacker. \nSeither rege Konzerttätigkeit\, Fernseh-\, CD- und Rundfunkaufnahmen in Deutschland (SWF\, SR\, BR)\, in den USA\, Finnland\, Polen\, Serbien\, Italien\, Frankreich\, Schweiz und der Türkei als gefragter Liedbegleiter\, Kammermusikpartner und Solist.\nUwe Zeutzheim folgte mehreren Einladungen zu den Opernfestspielen in Savonlinna/ Finnland. Dort hatte er Gelegenheit u.a. mit dem Radiosinfonieorchester Helsinki\, Okko Kamu\, Tom Krause und Jorma Hynninen zusammen zu arbeiten. \nAuf Initiative des Goethe-Instituts mehrmals Gastdozent für Deutsches Lied am Staatskonservatorium in Ankara/ Türkei. \nAuf Einladung des Auswärtigen Amtes zahlreiche Auftritte in Bonn und Berlin\, sowie Konzerte in Polen\, u.a. mit Mozarts Klavierkonzert KV 413 in der Philharmonie von Opole. \nBegleitet von dem Peter-Cornelius-Sinfonieorchester Mainz gastierte Uwe Zeutzheim mit dem 5. Klavierkonzert von L. v. Beethoven im Rahmen des „Kulturfestival Boppard“. \nUwe Zeutzheim ist Dozent am Peter-Cornelius-Konservatorium der Stadt Mainz für Klavier\, Kammermusik und Liedklasse. \nZahlreiche Wettbewerbserfolge (u.a. mehrere 1. März ist die Liedklasse der Hochschule für Musik Mainz mit einem Programm „Du bist wie eine Blume“\, das inhaltlich ganz den Damen dieser Welt gewidmet ist\, zu Gast in den Foyerkonzerten der Internationalen Musikakademie Sankt Goar im Glasfoyer der Rheinfelshalle. \nAuf dem Programm stehen Werke u.a. von Robert Schumann\, Franz Liszt\, Hugo Wolf und Sergej Rachmaninoff. \n\n\n\nEs musizieren die Studierenden Emilie Jønsson\, Anne Sofie Møller Olesen\, Nerea Elizaga Gomez\, Luisa Teodora Sagliano\, Sasou van Oordt. \nDiese wurden von Herrn Trung Sam auf dieses Konzert vorbereitet. \n© Dennis König\nAls Sohn vietnamesischer Einwanderer in Essen geboren\, schloss Trung Sam seine Ausbildung an den Musikhochschulen in Wien und Karlsruhe mit Auszeichnung ab. Stand schon vor seinem Studium das Kunstlied ganz im Fokus seiner Arbeit\, ist Trung Sam mittlerweile einer der versiertesten und gefragtesten Liedbegleiter seiner Generation und konzertiert über Europa hinaus auch in Nord- und Südamerika sowie in Asien. \nDie Presse lobt seinen magischen Klavierklang und sein außergewöhnliches Einfühlungsvermögen für Atem\, Phrasierungen und Farben\, was ihn zu einem beliebten Partner für Sänger macht. Das „Göttinger Tageblatt“ schrieb nach einem Liederabend: „…Trung Sam: perfekter Partner…technisch präzise\, mit hoher Anschlagskultur und bezauberndem Farbenreichtum.“ \nLiederabende mit Sängerinnen und Sängern wie Christoph Prégardien\, Roman Trekel\, Christian Elsner\, Thomas Michael Allen\, Peter Schöne\, Susanne Ritterbusch\, Falko Hönisch\, Susanna Martin\, Britta Stallmeister\, Lisa Wedekind u.v.a. führen den Pianisten durch ganz Europa zu berühmten Festivals wie der Schubertiade Schwarzenberg\, den Niedersächsischen Musiktagen Hannover\, dem Beaminster Festival England\, bei den Weingartner Musiktagen\, den Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspielen\, beim Beethovenfest Bonn etc. Weitere Liederabende gab er an wichtigen Stätten wie in der Sinfonie Bamberg\, Konzerthaus Berlin\, Philharmonie Essen\, Schloss Ettlingen\, Liederhalle Stuttgart\, Opéra de Lille\, Paris\, Musikverein Wien\, Tonhalle Zürich u.a. \nMehrere Auszeichnungen zeugen von seiner außergewöhnliche Gabe als Liedbegleiter: „Liedpreis“ des Kultusministerium Schleswig-Holsteins 2005 & 2006\, „Thomas-Wiese-Förderpreis“ für Liedbegleitung 2005 & 2006\, “Preis für die beste Liedbegleitung beim Joseph-SuderLiedwettbewerb”\, „Liedbegleiter des Jahres 2007“ des Kulturfonds Baden sowie 1. Preis des Deutschen Musikwettbewerbs Berlin 2007 in der Kategorie “Liedbegleitung” und Aufnahme in die „Bundesauswahl Konzerte junger Künstler“. \nStudio- wie auch Live-Aufnahmen verschiedener Liederabende wurden wiederholt von Rundfunkanstalten wie dem SWR\, BR\, HR\, NDR\, Deutschlandradio und Radio France mehrfach gesendet. CD-Aufnahmen sind bei den Labels „Harmonia Mundi France“ und „Carus-Verlag“ erschienen. \nTrung Sam ist seit dem Wintersemester 2022/23 Dozent an der Hochschule für Musik in der Landeshauptstadt Mainz\, wo er die Liedklasse leitet. Nach dem Abitur trat er in die Bundeswehr ein und begann dort die Ausbildung zum Musikfeldwebel in der Bundeswehr. \n1999 begann er das Musikstudium Hauptfach Posaune an der Robert Schumann Hochschule\, \nin Düsseldorf. Dieses Studium schloss er 2004 an der Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Köln\, mit dem Diplom ab. Seit 2001 ist Christoph Dissinger\, Posaunist im Heeresmusikkorps Koblenz. 2010 wurde er mit der Leitung des Blechbläserquintetts des Heeresmusikkorps betraut und bestreitet seit dem  zahlreiche Auftritte im In- und Ausland. \nUm sich künstlerisch weiter zu entwickeln\, besuchte Christoph Dissinger zahlreiche Meisterkurse und Workshops. Unter anderem beim Jazzposaunisten Jiggs Wigham\,  aber auch Prof. Olaf Krumpfer (Musikhochschule Dresden) \, Frank van Nooy (Dresdner Staatskapelle) und Prof. Fabrice Millischer (Musikhochschule Freiburg) inspirierten und unterstützten Christoph Dissinger sehr. \nSeit 2016 unterrichtet er Posaune an der Musikschule der Stadt Koblenz. \nMaurizio Deiana – Pianist\, Dirigent und Lehrer – wurde in Italien geboren. Seine ersten musikalischen Schritte und seine Ausbildung in Klavier erhielt er an der staatlichen Hochschule für Musik „G.P. da Palestrina“ in Cagliari und schloss dort den Bachelor Klavier mit Höchstpunktzahl ab. Seine Studien konnte er im Anschluss daran an der École Normale de Musique „Alfred Cortot“ in Paris bei Ludmila Berlinskaia vertiefen und erweitern sowie an der Hochschule für Musik „Franz Liszt“ in Weimar\, wo er die Möglichkeit bekam Master Aufbaustudiengänge in Klavier\, Kammermusik und Liedgestaltung zu absolvieren. \nNach dem Studium in Weimar bekam er seine erste Stelle als Solorepetitor mit Dirigierverpflichtung am Nordharzer Städtebundtheater Halberstadt. Weitere Erfahrungen konnte er als Solorepetitor bei den Internationalen Gluckfestspielen in Nürnberg für die Produktion der Oper „Paride und Helena“ sammeln. \nVon 2014 bis 2019 studierte er Bachelor Orchesterdirigieren bei Prof. Bloemeke und Prof. Florian Ludwig an der Hochschule für Musik in Detmold. Begleitend zum Studium war er auch am Landestheater Detmold und dem Stadttheater Bielefeld als Solorepetitor tätig\, wo er unter anderem an den Produktionen von Othello\, Rigoletto\, Le nozze di Figaro\, La Traviata\, Orpheus in der Unterwelt\, Werther\, La Bohème\, die Zauberflöte\, Zar und Zimmermann und die Meistersinger von Nürnberg beteiligt war. \nSeit dem Wintersemester 2017 ist er Lehrbeauftragter für Korrepetition an der Hochschule für Musik in Detmold und seit Januar 2022 Lehrkraft für Klavier und Korrepetition an der städtischen Musikschule Koblenz. \nWichtige Impulse als Dirigent und Pianist erhielt er durch Prof. Eugen Wangler in Frankfurt\, Symeon Ioannidis in Berlin\, Prof. Kahlert in Weimar\, Fabio Bidini in Berlin\, Riccardo Zadra in Padova\, Federico Gianello in Verona und Prof. Ivan Törzs in Detmold. \n\n\n\nSonntag\, den 5. Ganz am Beginn war es nur ein Hobby\, aber schon bald spielte er mit großer Leidenschaft und Liebe. 2012 fing er eine musikalische Ausbildung an der High School of Arts in Busan an. Im Jahre 2014 kam er mit 17 Jahren nach Deutschland\, um einen Traum zu verwirklichen: Pianist in einem Kulturland zu werden. Im Rahmen einer Begabtenförderung konnte er ein Klavierstudium bei Prof. Eike Wernhard an der Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt aufnehmen. Dieses schloss er 2020 erfolgreich ab und nahm anschließend ein solistisches Masterstudium auf. \nIm selben Jahr wurde er Stipendiat des Deutschlandstipendiums und bekam zudem die deutsche Staatsangehörigkeit. Bereits während des Studiums hat er an mehreren internationalen Wettbewerben teilgenommen und dabei Erfolge erzielt (Xabia\, Spanien: Platz 3; Mailand\, Italien: Platz 2) und spielte mit Orchester im Finale des Klavierwettbewerbes in Nizza. \nDerzeit wohnt Leo Kwon in Bingen am Rhein. Neben seinem Masterstudium gibt er regelmäßig Konzerte und ist zudem als Klavierdozent an der städtischen Musikschule in Bingen tätig. \n\n\n\nSonntag\, den 22. Denn Herr Rittner ist ein Exeget im Feld der historischen Aufführungspraxis der Klaviermusik\, die der Klassik und der Romantik entspringt. \nDie besonderen Instrumente aus der Zeit des Übergangs vom 19. auf das 20. Er absolvierte einen Diplom- und Masterstudiengang Klavier bei Prof. Fany Solter an der Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe und schloss diese jeweils mit Höchstnote ab. \nEr wurde mit zahlreichen Preisen ausgezeichnet\, u.a. beim Wettbewerb „Arnaldo Estrella“ im Minas Gerais\, beim „Young Soloists OSPA“ in Porto Alegre\, beim „Franz Liszt National Piano Competition“ in Niteroi\, Rio de Janeiro und beim „Guiomar Novaes-Wettbewerb“ in São Paulo. Darüber hianus gewann er den Wettbewerb des KulturFonds Baden e.V.\, erhielt ein Stipendium des Richard-Wagner-Verbandes Karlsruhe und war Preisträger des Büttner Klavierwettbewerb. \nAls Solist gab er Konzerte mit verschiedenen Orchestern\, unter anderen: Minas Gerais Staatsorchester\, Porto Alegre Staatsorchester\, Philharmonisches Orchester Bacau\, Niedersächsisches Staatsorchester Hannover. DESCRIPTION:Teacher\nDates\nCourse Details\nAccommodation\nRegistration\nCosts\nImpressions\n\n\nAfter studying at the State University of the Arts in Tokyo where she was born\, the pianist Tomoko Ogasawara continued her studies in Germany at the University of the Arts in Berlin and the University of Music in Freiburg im Breisgau\, where she received the solo diploma with honors and went on to win 1st Prize in the German Hochschulwettbewerb. \nAmong her teachers were Georg Sava\, Tibor Hazay and Georgy Sebok who influenced her artistic development and led her to early success\, for example as finalist in the international competitions “Maria Canals” / Barcelona and “ Clara Haskil” / Montreux. \nSince then concert engagements have taken Tomoko Ogasawara to the concert halls of the international music world (such as Berlin\, Montreux\, London\, Paris\, Tokyo\, Jerusalem\, Bangkok\, Shanghai). She has played concerts together with Albrecht Mayer\, Jörg Widmann and Tabea Zimmermann and regularly plays with the principals and leading musicians of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra\, the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra\, the Bavarian Symphony Orchestra and the SWR Orchestra also in the context of chamber music formations\, such as the piano trio “Franconia”\, the ensemble “Abraxas” and at international festivals such as “Affinis” in Japan. \nAs soloist Tomoko Ogasawara has played\, among others\, with the Symphony Orchestra Berlin\, Lausanne Chamber Orchestra\, Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic Orchestra and the Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra Bamberg. She is featured in numerous radio broadcasts as well as CD recordings. In the season 2006/2007 Ogasawara performed the complete cycle of piano sonatas by W. A. Mozart. \nCurrently Tomoko Ogasawara passes on her musical experience through the teaching position she holds at the University of Music in Freiburg im Breisgau as well as regular master classes in Tokyo and Yokohama. DESCRIPTION:Teacher\nDates\nCourse Description\nAccommodation\nRegistration\nCosts\nImpressions\n\n\nTeacher:  \n \nThe celebrated Greek pianist Triantafyllos Liotis began his piano studies with a scholarship at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki and continued them in Germany with Alfredo Perl (Bachelor and Master Soloist) and Manuel Lange (Master Lieder accompaniment) and Kalle Randalu (Solistenexamen). He completed his studies with first class honors and distinction. Furthermore he gained valuable insights from Sir András Schiff\, Cristoph Eschenbach\, Paul Badura – Skoda\, Bernard Ringeissen\, Ludger Rémy and Thomas Quasthoff. He currently has a piano class at the College of Music in Detmold. \nFil Liotis has already given numerous concerts in various European countries and in Japan and alongside his solo appearances is much in demand as a chamber musician and Lieder pianist. Invitations to international festivals and concerts have led to appearances in important European concert halls with Stuttgart Philharmonic\, the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz\, the Baden Baden Philharmonic Orchestra\, the Athens State Symphony Orchestra and other leading orchestras under acclaimed conductors such as Maestro Christoph Eschenbach and Maestro Vladimir Ashkenazy. His performances are regularly broadcast on international radio and television. \nFil Liotis is a prizewinner in several national and international piano solo and chamber music competitions including the 39th International Grand Prix Maria Callas\, the 61st International Competition Maria Canals Barcelona\, the Grand Prize Virtuoso Vienna International Competition and the Dr. Hermann-Büttner Competition in Karlsruhe. Performing with an ensemble of the Detmold Chamber Orchestra in 2015\, he won an ECHO Klassik award for the CD recording of G. Mahler’s Lied von der Erde for the label MDG. In 2016 Fil Liotis was honored with the Albéniz Medal at Spain’s Isaac Albéniz Festival.
