Summer programs

Our summer programs are open to undergraduate/intermediate level students, emerging artists and professionals.

We receive applications throughout until all spots are filled. While there is no deadline, this is a boutique program open to only 11 participants per session, and many of our sessions sell out. The sooner you apply, the higher the chances to secure a spot in our program.

Here’s a quick overview (for full details about each individual program, use the navigation menus on the right):

Opera Audition Training programs

Dates and participating casting directors:
Session I: June 12-19, 2017 (Mainz, Stuttgart)
Session II: July 3-10, 2017 (Cologne, Krefeld)
Session III: July 10-17, 2017 (Saarbrücken, Freiburg)
Session IV: July 17-24, 2017 (Zürich, TBA)
Session V: July 24-31, 2017 (Aix-en-Provence, Baden-Baden)

Our Opera Audition Training programs are best suited for singers who are either already singing professionally or are ready to embark on a professional career.
They stand out from other training programs since the master classes are taught by the industry professionals whose opinion, at the end of the day,  is the most crucial for anyone who wishes to work as a professional singer: casting directors!
Participants must be at least 24 years old at the time of the program in order to participate. Exceptions to the minimum age requirement will only be granted on a case by case basis if recommended by SGIMFA faculty members or staff.
There is no upper age limit.

Studio for Developing Voices

Our Studio for Developing Voices was designed with the needs of undergraduate and intermediate level students in mind.

Participants are typically 18-23 years old.
